P&LE Letter

P&LE Letter dated Feb. 28, 1900, presented by Eric Coleman

Eric Coleman asked us to provide a home for his framed P&LE Letter dated Feb. 28, 1900 detailing an executed contract with Atlantic Refining Co. The contract hung in his office for many years. When Mr. Coleman graciously presented this to us, he also provided the following history:

I have in my possession a letter dated Feb. 28, 1900 from the Atlantic Refining Company to the P&LE railroad transmitting an executed contract between the parties.  It is framed behind UV glass with special matting to preserve it. It was given to me by the P&LE in the mid 1980’s.  At that time, I was Director of Logistics for ARCO Chemical Company and the P&LE served our chemical plant located in Beaver Valley, PA.
